Emmanuel Advent Christian Church

75 Eastern Avenue, Rochester, NH 03867
We are pleased to have Emmanuel Child Care Center as one of the essential ministries of Emmanuel Church. Click here to learn more!
Children who love Jesus aren’t just the church of tomorrow, they’re a valuable part of the church of today! Our aim is to come alongside parents, grandparents, and caregivers alike to support and encourage you as you shepherd your child’s heart for the Lord. We welcome your children into the worship service, and want to provide opportunity for them to be involved in the worship as part of the church family. Click Here to see how we do this on a weekly basis. We also hold a one-week VBS in the summer, and schedule events for the whole family throughout the year.
Women’s ministry at Emmanuel Church has many opportunities to serve, grow and encourage one another in our faith. Monthly prayer breakfasts, fellowship times, and our annual Ladies Christmas Tea are just some of the ways that we put that into practice. We invite you to become involved with Women’s Ministry at Emmanuel! Be sure to check out our calendar for upcoming events.
The Men’s ministry of Emmanuel Church seeks to develop strong men of God. Our desire is to bring men of all walks of life together to share friendship and spiritual growth so they may help to transform their families, church and community. We accomplish this by meeting regularly at monthly men’s breakfasts, in homes for accountability and study, and at events like Iron Sharpens Iron. Be sure to check out the calendar for upcoming events.
Some of the ways that we reach out to our community is through an Acts of Kindness ministry (making items to be given out to people in need), community suppers, and our food pantry. Each of these “acts of kindness” are for those in our community who may need a kind word or a kind smile. We expect nothing in return. We seek to do good as Jesus did (Acts 10:38). Be sure to check out the calendar for upcoming events!
We seek to fulfill the Great Commission globally by following the leading of the Holy Spirit and by linking up with these partners:
Advent Christian General Conference
Missionary Air Group
Missions Door
Keys Ministries
New Tribes Missions
Operation Christmas Child
Prayer is an important aspect of all that we do here in the Emmanuel Family. Even before we gather on Sunday mornings, our Prayer Partners are praying for every aspect of the service and all those involved. It is a unique privilege to lift our requests to the Lord. Please reach out if you have a specific prayer request.

In 2012 our town was devastated by Superstorm Sandy and this is when OBC open the doors to victims in need of any kind. From as little as no electric for a few days to losing their home all together. Our members cooked for these people and gave them comfort in any way they could. As months and years went by people never stopped coming. The Soup Kitchen is not just for People to come and get some food in there belly. This was now a place they came to talk among the community and learn about more information regarding the issues with Superstorm Sandy, what is going on around our town and for the homeless to come and get a bite to eat.

Dover Food Pantry
Dover Food Pantry ~ In 1992 First Parish Church purchased the former drug store on the corner of Central and Silver Streets. Since that time, that building has provided space for many outreach services to our community and its citizens, including the Food Pantry, Thrift Shop, AA and Al-Anon. The Dover Food Pantry came into existence in 1979 as an outgrowth of the Food Pantry and is supported by local churches through Dover Cooperative Ministries.
The Food Pantry is open Tuesdays 3:00--5:00 p.m. and Thursdays 9:00--11:00 a.m. and is located in the Parish House building which is accessed through the parking lot between the church building and Parish House.

The Food Pantry at First Congregational Church is a vital ministry of our community that fills a significant need in the Concord area. Through the volunteer efforts and financial donations of our church this past year, the pantry has provided the equivalent of 32,500 meals to local families.
Whom Do We Serve?
Some of the visitors to the Pantry are currently homeless. Some just can't make ends meet in this economy. Some are recently unemployed. Some just can't find jobs. Some are on fixed incomes. Some are refugees who have come to this country with nothing but the hope of a better tomorrow.
In short, we serve our neighbors.
Supplementing their needs not only provides meals but also relief and hope.
Donating Food:
If you would like to donate non-perishable food items to the pantry you can drop them off at First Congregational Church.
